What to put on a electrician invoice
- The work done, room by room or circuit by circuit
- Materials such as cable, sockets and breakers
- Inspection or certificate fees, if you charge them
- Your registration number in your business details
If the job needed a safety certificate, mention it in the notes even when it was free. Clients keep invoices longer than emails.
Questions
- Can I charge per point instead of per hour?
- Yes. Put the number of sockets or points in the quantity column and your price per point in the price column.
- Where does my registration number go?
- In the Tax / registration ID field under your business details. It prints with your name and address.
- Can I reuse my details for every invoice?
- Yes. Your business details, logo and payment details are remembered in this browser and filled in on every new invoice.
