What to put on a plumbing invoice

  • The problem you found and the fix, in plain words
  • Call-out or emergency fee, kept separate from labor
  • Parts with quantities
  • Any guarantee on the work, in the notes

Emergency and out-of-hours rates belong on their own line with the time, so the higher rate does not look like a mistake.

Questions

How do I bill an emergency call-out?
Add it as its own line with the day or time in the description. The client sees why it cost more than a normal visit.
Can I give the client a guarantee?
Write it in the notes — for example “12-month guarantee on parts and labor”. It prints at the bottom of the invoice.
Is my data uploaded anywhere?
No. The invoice is built and saved in your browser. Nothing is sent to a server, so there is no account to make.
