Photography invoice template
A photography invoice usually covers more than the shoot: editing time, prints, travel and what the client may do with the photos.

What to put on a photography invoice
- The shoot date and type (wedding, portrait, product)
- Editing or retouching as its own line
- Prints, albums or other products
- Usage rights or licensing terms, in the notes
- Travel costs for shoots away from home
Write the usage license in the notes (“Web and social use, 12 months”). It settles questions before they become disputes.
Questions
- How do I bill a deposit to hold a date?
- Make an invoice for the deposit only, and say in the notes that it holds the date. Invoice the balance after the shoot.
- Can I add my logo?
- Yes. Upload it under your business details; it is resized automatically and printed at the top of the PDF.
- Where do licensing terms go?
- In the notes. They print at the bottom of the invoice, under the totals.
