Freelance invoice template
Whatever you freelance at, a good invoice answers three questions: what was done, what it costs, and how to pay. The rest is detail.

What to put on a freelance invoice
- Your name or business name and contact details
- The client’s name and, for businesses, their tax ID
- Work done, as hours or as fixed-price items
- A due date and how to pay you (bank details, payment link)
Put your bank details or payment link in the payment details box once. It is remembered for every invoice after that.
Questions
- Is it really free?
- Yes. You can create, save and download as many invoices as you like. There is no account and no trial that turns into a subscription.
- Where are my invoices saved?
- In this browser on this device. Use Back up in My invoices to download a copy you can keep or restore on another computer.
- Can I number invoices my own way?
- Yes. Type any number you like; the next invoice continues from it, so “2026-007” is followed by “2026-008”.
